Will The Elder Scrolls Online have a monthly fee?

Does anyone know if The Elder Scrolls Online will have a monthly membership fee that you have to pay in order to play it? I thought that I heard something about this, but I'm not sure. A lot of MMORPGs on the PC have monthly fees, but I was hoping that wouldn't be the case on PS4 if we pay $59.99 to buy the game.

I'm pretty sure it's like $14.99 /mo. If you're interested in trying out the beta you can go here: curse.com/betas/teso-beta-key-giveaway
hopefully they're still giving them out. It's a big download though. And it's PC.

I use Ubuntu (linux) and not Windows not to mention that I have a five year old laptop so I don't think I'd be able to play it for PC. I'm looking forward to it being released on PS4 though and I may be willing to pay the $14.99 a month on top of the $59.99 if it's the type of game that I'll play multiple times a week every week for months or even years. I just don't want to end up paying monthly fees for multiple games at a time.

If you want to know just check their official website elderscrollsonline.com they are constantly giving new announcements so i'm sure that they will post there first and also you can sign up for the beta on the ps4 but chances are not great since there are probably thousands already waiting. Sorry couldn't post link I don't have enough posts apparently.

Yes, you will need to pay full price to buy the game. Then there will be another $15 a month subscription fee. That's not all, the game will also have in-game shops that use real life money to purchase items. Sounds like a huge ripoff right now, I'm definitely holding off until something changes.

Can you tell us where you read or heard that. The $15 a month is probably right but their are a lot of places that are just spreading rumors.

It's just speculation from the community. Bethesda haven't revealed the price yet.

What does The Elders Scrolls Online cost?
...Once players purchase the game, they will have unlimited access for the first 30 days and can continue beyond that with a subscription of $14.99/30 days

The monthly fee aside, I really hope there are no micro transactions in the game itself, That would just be greedy for the game developers.

As the game stands I don't think that it is worth the sub fee. I'll probably be buying it anyway and playing for the first month, but I'm not sure it will be worth it to continue with that sub. It's possible that they will go the route of many other companies and eventually go free to play.

So does anyone like the idea of paying £50-60 for a game then £9 a month to play it?

Seems a bit of rip-off if you ask me.

Yeah I'm not really a fan of that system.

If the game was free to play and you paid £10 a month or something I'd shake his hand and happily join the crew of Bethesda players.

However this system....nope...

I'd shake their hand too! Sadly, I don't think it'll ever happen - with any game :(

Not with any PS4 game anyway. However the simple fact is they've got the original game price, the subscription and then finally an in game store with things to purchase.

Remember, Elder Scrolls is the series that brought us the wonderful microtransaction of horse armour. That did absolutely nothing!
