Will you be leveling up stealth?

In the Elder Scrolls Online, we will have an unlimited choice as to what specs we can focus on. In addition to our main class point we will have the ability to be super stealthy. How do you think this will work in TESO? Especially in PvP?

I not sure how it would work in PvP, but I tend to make melees in MMOs with tanks as an alt. In Elder Scrolls games I always focus on building stealth characters so I'll must likely be exploring it in TESO. Who knows how it will turn out in general though, I'm guessing it will keep aggressive characters and monsters from detecting you.

That's a good point. All in all I think at first I will probably steer fairly clear of stealth and then level it up with an alternative player if I decide that it's not glitchy enough to actually be worth trying it out.

Not a huge fan of stealth although it has its place for those who that element in the main series. I will definitely give it a try though.

No idea, I'll be finding out about 6PM today though. I'll quest with anyone playing over the weekend. Maybe group up? But not sure how many servers they are, usually 2-3 beta servers, heck I'm not sure what I'll name my character though. Myself and my wife are like that, named both the kids in minutes, takes us an hour to name our RPG characters.

lol Well a kid's name you can always change if you want if you're not too keen on it, plus names would've probably been thrown around prior. If you named them on the fly like "What are we naming him?"

"Lemmy."

"Love it. Let's get the other one out and name her." that's cool.

With an RPG character (especially in an MMO) that name usually sticks and you're visualizing them being this great warrior or mage. So you'll sit up "...Thor? Thorhammer? Melethor? He's gonna be a badass melee character...geez...nevermind, I'm calling him 'Ric Flair'." :p

Another thing is that unless your name was super unique you'd get prompts for your name being taken. Since they're going with first and last names, that's avoided though. It would be weird if two players came up with the same, unique name.

Could you imagine if when naming your kid you got a prompt that says "Sorry but 'Chris' is already taken", "Sorry but 'Chris305' is already taken", "Names must be longer than three characters", "Vulgar names are not allowed".

I would've been pissed if I couldn't name my kid whatever because someone else stole the name :p Would have to choose from a list of not so good names we had as backup.

Aww you'll have to tell us about your experience!

Oh and I will be leveling stealth. I LOVE stealth and if the level tree is similar to Skyrim then that's gonna be great.

You're so lucky to be able to be playing it! Please let us know all about you're adventures in Cyrodill!!! We're dying to hear about them! Congratulations on getting Beta access!

No, stealth isn't my style in games, I prefer to be straight damage, usually melee. Stealth is too passive for me, I like to be always on the move! :p

I enjoy leveling up my stealth. In my party that's usually what I do, I'm more of a sneak then I am aggressive at least when I have the option to be. So that's probably my first choice is to work as hard as I can to level up stealth. It'll be pretty useless in PvP but in exploring stealth is invaluable in my opinion, if you have at least on stealth member in your party you'd be surprised as to how much you can get accomplished.

I think another question could be, if you're in a group of say 5-7 people and your character is heavily based on stealth while all of the others are say... mages or fighters... front line people... how would you contribute to the team. This isn't really an objective question, I'm just genuinely interested to see what people's tactics would be.

I'll be leveling up stealth (I noticed I never answered the question). Classes heavy on stealth are usually damage dealers (melee), so I'd stick to that. Land multiple blows at a time. If stealth is actually implemented in combat (and if it is one of those skills in a tree that is open to mainly melee or a certain class), I figure that players in that role would be similar to a constant effect spell. You're constantly doing damage as your blows land, but the target isn't aggressive towards you given your level or stealth (especially when dealing with a tank).

I tend to picture casters (mages, etc.) and healers as back row people. While they can learn spells that give magical armor or higher defense, they still shouldn't be in the front taking damage.

Totally, this is usually my role in MMOs and it is one where at least for me, I find I level up the quickest in.

Healers/support usually level up quickly. One of the reasons is because every group needs a healer (not someone who just has a few healing spells). Those are usually in high demand and can go through several groups in an evening if they don't have a regular group. Tanks are usually a dime a dozen, good tanks aren't too rare and melee and damaging casters characters usually fill out the middle.

But yeah, even in non-MMO RPGs healers are the glue that keep a party together and keep folks from dying. Even a bad healer can find a group and level up quickly because you have one job: keep the tank from dying.
