Would you sell your PS3 for a PS4?

Keep it. PS4 doesn't have backwards compatibility after all. Plus, I doubt a used PS3 will go for a lot. If you're really cash strapped then I guess selling would be an option.

This is basically what I came here to say. Until the day that PS4 finally has backwards compatibility, which should have been an in the box feature if you ask me, there will always be a need to keep your PS3 around, just in case you want to play all those games you bought over the years.

I could see how someone who really wants a PS4 would sell their old PS3, but I personally wouldn't do it. I would prefer to just wait and save up the money, the wait is well worth it considering you still have your old console. I've sold consoles in the past to buy new ones and I've always regretted it. I've learned my lesson already.

I would sell my PS3 for a PS4 but the problem would be the pricing, I mean sure if you have some extra dollars to throw in to throw in with the PS3 you sold then good for you but I don't think someone would buy your PS3 the same price as a PS4, not unless you have all the games for the PS3 included.

I did sell my ps3 for a ps4 and just learned last night that the ps4's aren't 3D compatible :/ bummer. I traded in my system and all my games towards a ps4, think I paid around $100 plus a game. Although there's no 3D, it was worth it.

I wouldn't sell it for a PS4. Back in the days I sold my PS2 for a new PS3 and I completely regret it. The problem is they are not downwards compatible and you will want to play your old games at some point, I can guarantee you that. There have been so many instances where I would've loved to play Star Wars: Battlefront 2 or Ratchet and Clank 2 and I just couldn't but now I bought the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy for PS3 so at least I don't have that problem anymore but I still had to pay 30€ for 3 games I actually already had just because it was on a different console.

I won't sell my PS3, at least not anytime soon. I plan on keeping it although I am loaning it to a friend of mine for awhile. For now it makes more sense to hold on to it.

No, never. I love my PS3 to much. It doesn't have any kind of backwards compatibility and that really makes a lot of difference to me, especially right now with how many games I have for the PS3/PS2. Maybe if that was changed in the future, I would consider it, but right now, most definitely not.

I wouldn't sell my Playstation 3 and give up all my great games and memories on there until the Playstation 4 has more games, and more of my friends transfer over. Besides, selling it wouldn't even give much money, since it's a used PS3 with a weird orange stain on the side. Until Playstation 4 gets Grand Theft Auto V on Next Gen and Destiny, I'll be firmly sticking to my Playstation 3, and so will most of my friends. I don't usualy buy consoles until they're a year old or so.

If I won;t have any alternative, I guess I will be willing to sell my PS3 just to get the next console with so many amazing games to come. So yes, I am gong to do it if I have no other option left.

I would have never sold my PS3 just to get my PS4. Over the years I've made it a point to never sell my old consoles. I eventually feel like playing the games again and since I don't get rid of them all I need is to dust them off and start playing. I love my PS4, but I could have waited a few more months to get it if the alternative was to sell my PS3.
