Xbox One Will Support Gameplay Capture Devices - IGN

Microsoft has now confirmed that their upcoming system the Xbox One will support devices for "capturing" or recording gameplay. What this means is that gamers will have no interference when capturing their gameplay for walkthroughs and commentaries and it will all be DRM free. Good of Microsoft to make this issue clear as many gamers had questions about this.

This is an useful addition but did they specify the time? I read the news claiming that Xbox One will automatically record last 10 mins or so of gameplay to show it off to friends or on the internet. But, this hassle free recording support without any DRM issues will make it easy for people who make walkthroughs. It's important because whenever I get stuck in a level, my first choice would be to watch a relevant walk through video.

Can't say I'm too thrilled with the additon of recording software in the consoles to begin with, I mean the most I see it doing is flooding Youtube and the likes with millions of Call of Duty 360 No scope round house kicks blind folded. While it will certainly help those people trying to create guides I feel they'll be drowned in a sea of kill cams.

Hardly groundbreaking news here, people have been always able to use capture cards connected to their TV's. A fancy UI might be neat but I don't think that it's a valid selling point that will attract many people
