50% extra power will make quite a bit of difference. If that makes games not freeze or long loading times then that is definetly a better edge on the Xbox One. Of course I will get the PS4 anyway so it is good news for me.

Yeah, the words thrown by Microsoft last week were so hilarious. They were just trying to say anything to defend their console. Their logic, basically was that since both consoles have unknowns it will balance out in the end. Lolwut?
Although, I'm not sure if 50% is an overestimation or not. It's safe to assume that PS4 is indeed quite a bit more powerful than the Xbox One.
50% perhaps not. But the PS4 is more powerful than the Xbone. Now its up to devs whether or not we see that in PS4 games.
Why I'm I not surprised, xbox one sucks and they're going to lose money.
For one thing the PS4's 8GB of GDDR RAM vs the Xbone's 8GB of DDR3 RAM.But what do you base that upon, aside them second hand statements? What hard numbers can you put to to calculate and compare?
gamespot said:Anonymous developer sources have indicated that the PlayStation 4 is "noticeably faster" than the Xbox One in key performance areas, according to UK magazine Edge.
Memory reads on PlayStation 4 are 40-50 percent faster than Xbox One, says the report, and the arithmetic logic unit (ALU) on Sony's graphic card is also said to be twice as fast than its next-gen competition.
A basic example given by one developer is that a current multiplatform title can run at a resolution of 1920x1080 at 30fps on PlayStation 4, but that on Xbox One the framerate will drop to 20-something at the lower resolution of 1600x900.
“Xbox One is weaker and it's a pain to use its ESRAM,” added another developer.

Both have custom AMD chips and Sony has the graphics edge with an 18 compute unit GCN graphics core configuration. (Or so Ive read)
Why did Microsoft boost their CPU ? In a vain attempt to catch up some to PS4. In short, google is your friend.
This means absolutely nothing and you're throwing out raw figures rather than quantifying them in any reasonable manner. Merely saying something is "50% more powerful" is nothing but buzzword hype if you don't show how you calculated the figure. Citing memory reads as 50% faster does not directly translate into "50% More Powerful".
In short, Google may be your friend, but regurgitating you're friend's blanket statements isn't going to earn you any influence.
Taking this at face value, I don't think it's going to do much for the Xbox vs PS debate. Being "more powerful" is subjective and I'm not exactly sure how that 50% number is arrived upon. Also, even if it were 2000% more powerful than the Xbox One, it would mean nothing if developers didn't take advantage of the extra "power" (whatever that means).
Sounds like this isn't really your type of conversation, buddy.
Nobody has any hard numbers other than Sony, Microsoft, and the people developing for their consoles. If a developer says the PS4 is 50% more powerful, we take his word for it, because he's the one developing for the damn thing. You can doubt him, sure, and there aren't any hard proof or figures in the article, but that's up to you. You can't really go around asking for hard figures when obviously we don't have them. It's just, well, obnoxious of you.
I think it's all kind of unimportant in the short game, but in the long run one might boost ahead of the other in a few random aspects like characters on screen at the same time, draw distance, etc.. you know, stuff most people don't give a crap about.
It might not make a difference right now, but in the future, devs are going to definitely be making even more graphically intensive games, and this is when it might make a difference. The PS3 might get ~45FPS, while the XBox One could only get ~20, which for me is a game breaking framerate. I can't handle anything below 30, and I really don't like to play if I get anything below 60 on PC games. Some of my friends can play a game at 10FPS and not complain.
Yeah. If it turns out to be true that PS4 can actually run things that the Xbox One physically cannot, I'll be interested. Lord knows the Xbox One won't be able to pull anything like that on the PS4.
