Earphones jack?

The PS3 has one little but important thing missing. A jack for earphones. You can only plug in a headset for the microphone, but not to hear from. Personally, I prefer earphones over any other sound system, and I hope we'll have a jack for it in PS4. Has anything been confirmed?

You can use the AV multiout or optical out to connect gaming headsets.
Thats how I connect my Sharkoon surround headset. But yeah,a simpler method would be better.

Do you mean directly to the console? But if you have wireless headphones, i think you can just plug them into your television no problem, i think the difference wouldn't be that much.

I have wired only, and I can plug it in my TV jack, but for some reason the sound still comes from the built-in speakers...

I tried that, but it's too completed and messy, and it didn't work. I looked for videos on youtube as well but a lot of them weren't helpful. I can't understand why something so simple is made so complicated.

I don't think they'll add this any time soon; gaming headsets can already connect and there's not much demand for a way to connect headphones directly to the console itself. I know I definitely sit way too far from the TV and move around too much to keep from pulling the cable out of the console at some point.

Seems like DS4 has a built-in jack entrance so you can probably plug it in there, and according to a tweet from " Shuhei Yoshida" you can either plug in a microphone or headphones it's your choice but probably you can only use one at the time.

I'd love it if I could plug in separate headphones because I have $300 studio quality headphones and they would be amazing for gaming!!!

Will that work for game audio or just for voice chat stuff, though?

Both but only one at the time, can either choose to play the headphones only for audio and abdicate the voice or you can plugin a microphone and just listen through your television. Probably the best solution will be to connect your microphone via bluetooth and the sound through the jack and voilá you can have the best of two worlds.
