Activision comments on Fanboy War

A man that no one even considered wanting to hear from on the whole PS4 vs Xbox One situation has decided to make noncommiting comments, Activision's Eric Hirshberg. I don't know about you but I don't care what they have to say on the matter and I'm not sure why they felt the need to say anything but they did.

He's addressing the 1080pPS4 vs the 720p Xbox One. I'm not hung up on graphics but you have to admit that the PS4 is just more powerful than the Xbox One so I'm not sure what he was trying to prove.

This will always happen, they're two sides of the same coin with different viewpoints and goals. Console wars will always happen, like Mac vs PC. Like Raiders vs 49ers, it's all competition and whoever is affected will defend their own opinions.

Wars will definitely always happen. It's like bloods vs crips, or mac vs pc as DarkDefender already mentioned. I agree, now that you mention it, I wish I didn't sell my Dreamcast.

It's always about the fun than the quality. I'm not sure how many Wii's were sold on it's release date, but obviously enough to prove that a console doesn't need to be the most powerful to be successful.

The Dreamcast didn't lose to Sony, it lost to piracy.
The Dreamcast was an epic system, it brought a few firsts to the console world and was truly a next gen console.
Sega just did not predict that any idiot with a computer with a cd burner could download games off of the internet or just rip a copy you got from blockbuster on to a blank disc.
I for one feel sorry for Sega, they made that awesome machine for the gaming community and in return they lost almost everything because of that community.
Having to buy a Nintendo device to play a Sonic game is enough to make me cringe.

Nintendo and Sega were the ultimate console wars, and now Sega is pretty much Nintendo's bitch. Sad fate for an epic company.

As long as people have bias towards one console than another we will see console wars. However i find that most Xbox One users that i know don't have a good reason for why the Xbox One is better than the PS4 to them.

The other day I was watching someone stream the xbox one on twitch and all of the Microsoft supporters kept saying things like, "The PS4 sucks because it gets FPS drops in CoD: Ghosts" and "The PS4 does not play in 1080P in CoD: Ghosts Multiplayer"
Now I am not sure about the 1080P part, but I know for sure that the PS4 does not have frame drop in Ghosts, I play that game almost every day and don't notice a thing. But I play on a 240Hz Television. I tried so hard to explain that the PS4 gets frame rate spikes that jump well over 60 FPS and TV's with a lower Hz rating can not keep up and skip frames because of it.
They can be so stubborn and so rude, never have I had people so maliciously throw their ego's at me after stating a 100% true statement with proof. They are so quick to make it personal. And with no proof at their backs.

IDK, I like both consoles. but I wont sit there and let someone act like theirs is better over some made up rumors. Just kinda ridiculous.

Yeah, I enjoyed the Sega and Nintendo wars a lot more. It just seemed liked there was more innovation and great games coming out in those days. That was an epic rivalry, I mean the PS1 was born from that rivalry. Today Playstation and Xbox rivalry just doesn't seem nearly as fun as the old days but that could be more because of the internet. Yeah. Though both consoles have their exclusives the core idea behind their games are pretty much the same. The core fanbase is the same. Nintendo and Sega fans had two very different ideologies when it came to gaming, and the libraries where different. I was a major Nintendo mark and never owned a Sega but the games were very different. Most games come out on both consoles with a few differences.

Im not bashing sega or the dreamcast, im telling it like it is. I LOVE the dreamcast, still have my original dreamcast with VMU's and game saves from '99.

Piracy was the final nail in the coffin. When sony announced their console before the DC launch, it took some air out of SEGA's sails. EA wouldnt sign on for the sports titles. Other devs were scared too and wouldnt sign on. They may have come around in the long run, but piracy took hold before that could happen.

Now we can wrap our heads around 780p and 1080p and sometime along the way our eyesight apparently got so amazingly keen that we can tell the difference to the tips of the "T".

The console wars have always been a thing. Luckily for me, I always grew up with 2 consoles due to receiving hand downs from family members. I am a Nintendo guy, but can appreciate otehr consoles.

I used to love to say that in school. I was a SEGA guy then they bowed out following Dreamcast. The one friend who actually remembered those commercials would say "Sega does what Nintendon't...make games for its competitors."

The 90's wars were the best because no one cared about the PC, playing nice stuff. Sega and Nintendo directly called each other out in their advertising. It was some good times back in the day because it was fun. It never got ugly the way it does now, sure you had things like "Sega does what Nintendon't" but it was silly and kids loved it. I miss those days.

PC is like the Atari of the PlayStation vs. Xbox console wars. Someone will chime in, but ultimately no one asked you, PC fan. It's not Atari by relevance, it's Atari by no one really caring...at all.

Man, I still can't believe that CoD: Ghosts managed to be such a spark to the console war. It's a lazily-developed turd from a company and developer that only care about milking the cash cow. Why are we caring? Every version of it sucks. Now if this was a game from a GOOD developer like, I dunno, Rockstar or something... that would be important.
