The PS4 HDD is full at 407GB.

So IGN just posted a video citing that the stock harddrive is full at 407GBs and my first reaction was "It's not too bad." I mean it's still better than the Xbox One's harddrive which is filled at 380+GBs. What exactly do Sony keep in the system that reserves so much space I wonder?

Probably the amount of options you get, the UI and among other things. I mean they'll be releasing a cloud update type thing later on so that might take up room. I can't say exactly what it is but I'm sure it will be important. I mean the PS3 took up something like 9GBs.

I'm not too sad at this news.

So is this cloud update going to allow us to store all of our bought games without using local disk space?

Also, if I buy a hard copy of a game can I download the entire game to the disk so I don't have to have the game in the ps4 every time I want to play.?

Eh I'm not sure. I think the cloud feature will have something to do with the ability to play PS3 games and other games. I can't say really as Sony hasn't said anything much on it. You can't download the entire game to your console, as if you did that then what would stop you from buying the game, installing it and then selling the game for top price while the game has been used? You can't do that, the only way you can have the entire game on PS4 is if you buy it from the PS store.

Even with the PS upgrade programme you still have to keep the disc to act as a 'key' to play the game, even though you have that saved to your console.

Thanks, I think from now on I will buy my games from the ps store then, I want to get a vita and use the remote play but if im not at my console to switch disks, it sounds like I'll be locked in to whatever disk I left in the system.

The only problem I guess is that games on the store can cost slightly more than they would in a retail store. I guess it depends on where you shop really.

When it comes to new releases PSN store is a rip off, especially here in AUS. I can get the hard copy delivered for almost half price sometimes.
With hard copies we can shop for the best deal, retail locally or online, imported etc, with PSN we cant.

I try to avoid buying digital whenever I can. Downloading PS4 games seems a crazy for my internet, a full retail game will take me hours to complete. I also prefer to buy at a store for convenience.

I'm with you, I also prefer to buy physical copies than a digital one, to be honest, I've never bought a digital one.
Having a shelf full of games is awesome! :p

Do you mean the Gaikai service that will be launching some time soon? I heard that Gaikai can let us stream PS3 and other games online but not much info is known. I wonder how's that going to work, I think it's going to need a fast internet if it's streaming.
