Can i record my gameplay with an external PVR

I would like to record my gameplay, and save it to my external hard drive.

I know the PlayStation 4 does not currently support this, but what if i bout my own PVR with HDMI pass through. Would i be able to capture my PS4 gameplay? Or does the PlayStation 4 have some sort of protection against this?

I'm not sure. Theoretically, you should be able to do it.

I know there was a trick with a splitter that worked for the elgato. You'll have to use something like that until Sony disables HDCP over HDMI.

Search youtube, there are quite a few tutorials.

You could do it on the PlayStation 3.

but the PlayStation 4 does not support external media right night now. I was thinking maybe i could upload my gameplay to a file storage site via the PlayStation 4 browser. Then download it on to my Laptop, from the file hosting site.

Has anyone ever tried that?

Wireless heradset + PS4 +ElGato+ Game Chat

Does anyone know if you can use ElGato with the ps4 and a wireless headphone to record game chat. Even if it's only recording the audio for the other gamers and not yourself cause I have another mic I can use to record my voice directly to the ElGato. Thanks in advance.
