Is The Last of Us Remastered worth it ??

Ok, on the PS3 i've played the Sp campaign of the last of US 2 and a half times on the PS3. I had the season pass so got all the DLC for MP and the incredible DLC story add on, "Left behind".

I've thrashed the MP side of things and really enjoyed myself. Got all of the PS3 MP trophies....

SO .. to someone like me who's played a LOT of the last of US on the PS3 and had now put the game down, are the improvements on the PS4 version worth it to someone like me, enough to spend another £38 on the game to play it again on the PS4.

Are the visuals THAT much smoother, and that better ? I've seen the you tube comparisons but you tube doesn't give the true flavour. I need the people that have played it to tell me.

SO ... should someone like me pick it up again ??

If you want to play the game again it does look better, and the story is as great as ever. But you've been through it.

Unless you really want to play it again you may be better off experiencing something new..

While a great game, I dont think it worth rebuying it, not at this moment.

I might buy it for collection purposes, but I would do it later when cheap used ones are available.
I purchased the PS3 version day one, I dont feel the same excitement for the PS4 version

I agree although I would like to think that this is a game that was the best thing that I had ever had the chance to play on the PlayStation I just don't think that someone should actually waste money buying the game again. I think that if you have it already then that is cool enough. I don't think that with the new game that they would have added anything different the only thing that I can think of that would be different in the game has to be the graphics other then that I do not think that there would be anything else that would have changed.

It wasn't really anything else it was more a case were the improvements from the PS3 to PS4 THAT much better. Loooking at the replies and the poll, looks like not.

If you haven't played the game already on your PS3, you should definitely check the game out. I mean, it's just the updated version of the game with better graphics.

Since you've already played it then it's not worth it since it only looks and performs better with no new contents. It's only worth if you're a really huge fan of the game or you didn't play it the last time. $50 is a lowered price but still not low enough especially the game just came out last year. If you really want to try it, I'd suggest waiting for a while to let the price drop.

Considering you've already played through 2 and a half times I really don't see a need for someone like you to pick it up.
Even if you just want to get it to add it to your PS4 library, I'd advise waiting until it eventually drops the price significantly.

This is the reply my friends are telling me also. I think i'll pick it up when it's about half the price it is now

Yeah I don't you you should pick it up yet. You have played it plenty a times already and unless you actually love the game sososososo much there isn't much value in upgrading. Wait till it lowers in price and then it will be worth it. Although at the moment there aren't a lot of good games on PS4 so if you pick this up, the online community might be really popular.

If you've never played the game before, then definitely get it on PS4.

If you played it on PS3 and absolutely loved it, then you'll probably feel fine buying it again and be satisfied with the PS4 version.

If you enjoyed it but didn't love it, then there's no way you'll feel good about the Remastered version.

I think it's as simple as that. It's going to be worth it for some people but not others.

The Last Of Us is my current favourite all-time game. It sits at the top of the pile and can sit with pride in the rare and exclusive category of games that I genuinely class as a 'masterpiece'. Make no mistake about it - it's an incredible game in near enough every respect and it shown to me that the PS3's full potential still hadn't been reached in the run-up to the PS4's launch. I spent months pleasantly lost within it's story. It's one game that I feel all serious gamers should have in their collection.

In my opinion if you didn't have it for the PS3, then this is an obvious choice to have for the PS4. For those people, I can't recommend this game highly enough and it's a 'no-brainer'. It would probably be the first game I would be looking for and if you fall into this category, you can pick up a PS4/The Last Of Us bundle at the moment...

However, if you've already played and loved it on the PS3, then I don't really see the need to purchase again because of minor graphical improvements. I don't understand why...

Personally speaking, unless it's something I can pick up cheaply as and when I do finally purchase a PS4, then I won't be buying it again. I've not long started watching a YouTube walkthrough of the remastered version and whilst I happily admit it's not exactly the best way to see improvements (even if you do select the highest 1080p resolution in the settings as I do), it's certainly fooled me... I can't see anything so far that's notably improved over what was already highly impressive...

I voted no.

I've not bought the game and experienced it but all the reviews I've read indicate the graphic difference isn't too noticeable between PS3 --> PS4. They do say the frame rate is much better but in all honesty that to me isn't worth the price of admission where I can enjoy both the single player and multiplayer with all my stats etc for what I already paid a year ago.

I paid £45 for the game + £20 for the season pass. If they had offered an upgrade programme which would have been easy and decent to do then I would have got it like I did with CoD.
