4 PS4 controllers?

I purchase 3 extra PS4 controllers to go with my PS4 console order. I did this before I realized that COD Ghosts was only 2 players. Is there a reason for me to have 4 controllers with the PS4? Are there any games worth getting to uses 4 players?

Great if you are into sports games. Multiplayer couch Fifa is the most fun have ever had. Its kind of sad that Couch CO-OP is on the decline.

I play Fifa with my friends all the time and we use four controllers, it's really really fun!
If you like sports games, you'll use them for sure.

I mean the console is brand new, so it is hard to judge that now. If you can afford to keep them, I would. You never know what awesome 4 player games will come out. Also, it never hurts to have extras if one controller breaks.

Right now i would say not. Only if you like to get a new controller when it doesn't have battery and you just keep switching them, there is not real reason to have more than 2 controllers, maybe 3 at max.

I'm sure they will eventually come out with many games that allow more than 2 players, especially for fighting games, I think. I've played Tekken Tag and Mortal Kombat with 4 players on the PS3, and it was very fun. I imagine that games will continually offer this feature even with the PS4.

I'm sure that they'll come out with games that will use them all, even if they haven't come out with them yet. Party games and the like will probably come along eventually. I would probably have waited to buy more controllers until there was actually something that I knew was going to need them, but I'm sure you'll end up getting use out of them at some point!

I think eventually there will be games that utilise 4 players, but of course most games won't. I'm pretty sure they will be worth the purchase, I think there will be some awesome fighter games that may use 4 players!

I wholeheartedly agree with this.

With the Wii U, there's been a lot of focus on local multiplayer, which is great for people like me (that have friends locally, and can actually utilise it). I'm sure a lot of you are aware though, the Wii U isn't so good for online multiplayer, particularly with Nintendo's own games.

On the other hand, seeing things like this is pretty disheartening. Local multiplayer and online multiplayer are two very different things. Nothing quite compares with being able to rub it in the faces of your friends after humiliating them - it saddens me that developers are focusing more on online play (which can be very unreliable at times).

Why can't more games include both online and local multiplayer?

You can use the split screen sort of thing I saw on the internet.
Its like you wear 3d glasses and have the screen mode into this mode where the glasses cancel the other screen out.
It's really cool but I can't find it now.
This could really make you use 2 of the controllers but 4?
I don't see much use for it now a days with the new games coming out.

Definitely a good reason to keep all those controllers.... When u get mad playing COD Ghosts and throw your brand new DS4 smashing it into oblivion you have another one to sync up and dont have to run out to the store to get a new one LOL.... Dont ask me how I came up with that idea.

You're not going to use those extra controllers right now.
The PS4 doesn't have too many games right now but I'm sure many games will support 4 players.

I think you're fine if you buy 4. Jbepp is right. For now you probably don't need them but their will be PS4 games that will support local 4 player co-op, and it's always good to have back-up controllers. You may not be using them now but eventually you will. Just give it some time for more games to come out.

I'd say two controllers are good enough, just always keep one charged and you won't need for to rotate out. If you have people coming over regularly to play, then yeah four are good to have.
