Beyond Two souls has been rated R18+. It seems like the drug uses is the reason for a mature rating. What do you think?

Considering even the dev team thinks it's kind of out there I'm not surprised that it's R18+. Between the violence and the more mature themes it seems like something you would have to expect. I want them to stick true to the storyline, but I can't play the game if it gets banhammered or whatever so let's hope they can figure something out.

Unsurprising to me, for the same reasons that Esperahol mentioned. If even the developers think it's out there, then it's truly something deserving of it's rating.

Have yo see some gameplay footage? It's really intriguing. I recommend you to have a look at it. It's going to be an amazing game.

I don't care about the use of drugs in a game. After all it is just a game. We shouldn't take it as anything else. Maybe cut a few parts out where they are using drugs and the rating is normal. Lets hope it doesn't get banned so you can't play it. They are probably worried about kids playing the games.

They should stop worrying about kids and teach parents about the rating systems. Hell, even if the children do play it, it won't be so bad. I played GTA3 when I still fairly young, I didn't turn into a psychopath or anything. Why? Because my parents taught me what's right and what's wrong; my parents taught me that what happens in these games isn't real and that I shouldn't imitate these actions.

Honestly, banning media because of crappy parents that don't educate their children is one of the dumbest things.

You can literally have the best parents in the world and still end up with messed up kids. So why tempt things and include unnecessary instances of bad behavior? Also just because you can do something, doesn't mean you need to. It's up there with folks who basically want pornographic games, and say that not including that is just prudish or whatever.

Even by the look of trailers it was evident that this was going to be a very unique and serious game. I'm not surprised they have drug usage in it. And I'm sure all of it is there for a reason and not just to make it look fancy like SR4.

David Cage is quite the mastermind when it comes to the stories of his games so I think we'll be fine.

It's not society that concludes these ratings. It's a group of handful of people who take all the decisions for these ratings.

There was also a part in a gameplay video where Ellen Page's character is walking around, looking for money to buy food. A dude who's standing near an alley asks her for a "favor". In the video, the player chooses no, but the fact the the option is there is definitely not something that would be in a T game. Whatever, it will sell very well regardless

Yeah, I think it's going to do really well in terms of sales. I am still on fence with this one, because I still can't comprehend what this game is all bout. In one gameplay video, they showcase some gameplay video, hut the next one is completely different from the previous video.

Well, thankfully, censorship is slowly becoming a relic of the old western world. If you don't want your children playing the game, it's your choice as the parent (and not the choice of the media/government). I know I won't be holding much back from my children when it comes to these experiences.

Honestly it's... well you know how recently we've had like the Tomb Raider reboot, and Bioshock Infinite, and The Last of Us? It's that kind of thing where you're putting a young woman through something awful and then looking over the results. This chick (who has a name beginning with E because that's a thing apparently) has a special power that might not be all that natural, and she is in danger because of it. That's the basics. How they move along that thread is rather odd to be honest, but it seems very interesting.
