Cannot connect to the Server (NW-31201-7)

Guys is there a problem with the PSN and PS4's right now. Whenever I boot up and try to go onto the PSN I get this msg,,, "Cannot connect to Server (NW-31201-7)",, i cant even see my friends list or anything.

I tried a connection test and it failed at internet connection,,, and yet it said my signal strength was excellent and I can open the PS4 Browser and go straight onto google, so thats obviously not right,,, and my internet is fine as Im online here on the laptop and yet the PS4 still can't get onto the PSN.

When I looked it up there seemed to be a lot of people complaining about this error code,, but most where from a month or two ago. I noticed this earlier in the week when I first couldn't go online with fifa,, but thought it was due to my PS+ expiring,, so when I tried to get onto update the subscription I noticed,,,moments later tho I got another msg saying the PSN was down for maint,, so put in killzone and played and forgot

Now again 2nite I am getting this msg all over,, ,I have tried switching off and on,, but nothing.


Have I problem with the console or is it a known issue,,and if so is there a fix ???

Managed to get back on by logging out instead of switching off,,, might just have been luck,,, anyone else been getting this error ????

This happened again to me last night,,, took a good 5/10 mins before I could get online,,, again nothing wrong with my net connection and was again still able to open PS4 browser and use google etc,,, just not the online features of games, the PSN or even see friends online,,, anyone else getting this and know whats being done about it?

I had hoped the update we just had ,, had fixed it as it had been pretty stable since,until last night that is. The problem as I see it is with the PSN. Seen a few posts on other forums when I googled. I hope they get this sorted ASAP,, I mean we are now paying for their online features and from what I've seen so far I never got this as bad when it was free !!!

Got this again last night and took about another 5 mins before I could get on forcing me to shut off/on multiple times ,, really starting to piss me off now,, some night I only get an odd hour to play when the mrs go to bed and I have to waste 5/10 mins trying to log in!!!

. Does anyone else on here get these and or has anyone got a fix? How do I send in request for info or something off Sony or even just ask for a refund on my PS+ until they get this fixed, is there a email contact for the right department??

I've just googled your error though. Have you tried restarting your router?

Haven't actually ,,, when I googled it I saw various forums with quite a few people experiencing it,,,so was surprised not to see anyone on here mention it,, normally I can get in after switching on/off a few times its just a pain. Thing is when it does it I can still access the internet etc on the PS4 through the web browser so its still connecting to the net ok,, which led me to think its a PSN issue.

I had this problem last week, i googled and saw people having same issue, i figured it is PSN problem.

Maybe this is UK server's problem?

Having it again tonight,, been unable to get on for 30mins now. Tried to re-set up the network and only get as far as the proxy server option,, ie it keeps coming back to the proxy question as it cant go on with the normal server option. Strange thing is when I do a network test it gets the IP no prob but says cant connect to rounter,,, funny then how the browser still lets me surf away on google then without a router eh ??? just not connect to PSN or online game features,,, think this must be a server issue ,,, going to phone sony about this tom,,, really starting to hack me off now.
