Did you enjoy playing Onimusha?

Onimusha was a series made by Capcom for the PlayStation 2. It was an action game series that is set in Japan which featured pre-rendered backgrounds, 3D characters, and an action oriented gameplay. I saw that the games in the Onimusha series were rated highly so I purchased Onimusha 1 and 2 at a discount. I was deeply disappointed though as I just couldn't get myself to like the story and the combat system. Anybody here feel the same way like I do towards the series?

I've played the PS2 Onimusha game, and I like the various weapon choices for Jubei. I never am fond of the side characters though. Maybe it's because they only have one weapon while Jubei has more than one. And of course, I remember the opening song quite well.

The series is fantastic. I've been meaning to replay them but I haven't got around to it yet.

It's definitely one of my favorite PS2 franchises.

I'm never sure if I like them or I don't to be honest. There's parts I love, and parts I just really cannot stand playing through, but then I always continue playing so I guess it must be that I enjoyed it as an experience I suppose.

I wonder how cheap they are now. I really wish Capcom had released an HD Collection of the series, would have been great.

I actually preferred Onimusha to RE and DMC as far as Capcom series went. I didn't care for that awkward movement mechanic, but the gameplay made up for it 10x.

I liked Onimusha, but also hated Capcom's movement mechanic where you had to pick a direction then run in that direction instead of just pressing the stick in that direction like...99.9% of action games.

That's true, Onimusha actually took some practice and familiarizing yourself to get the hang of. You didn't just run in thinking you would be killing stuff.

Oh Onimusha, where did you go and why won't Capcom find you I liked Onimusha more than RE and it's pretty much neck and neck with Devil May Cry.

I loved Onimusha. It was one of my favorite PS2 games and Capcom titles.

It certainly had a lot of things that I could get into. Definitely a very unique game!
