Does your PS4 Wobble ?

While googling the white death light to get some info on it I came across a site that was claiming the PS4 Console when sat horizontal doesn't sit level on a flat surface and that this will lead to disc scratching!

I just went over to my console to check and it does indeed have a slight wobble,,, not nearly as much as the article makes out tho.

Does everyone's console do this ,, and has anyone else heard anything about it causing disc scratching ??

Suppose you could sit it vertical if that's an option for you,,, mine looks better where it is in the horizontal though.

Thoughts

Yes, every console does this. If you lift it up and look on the bottom you will notice it has 3 rubber feet, pads or what every you want to call them. Don't know who thought of using 3 instead of 4. It does not effect the console but it is a weird design.

Any idea on the disc scratching,,, doesn't move unless you make it move,, so don't see myself how this could cause any issues, unless you where living at the end of a runway or on railway line

As long as you don't move it while it's on then there is absolutely zero problem with it. The PS4 is very stable even when it's spinning the disc unless you push it yourself. People make a fuss about it just complain for the sake of complaining. Don't worry about it, it works completely fine.

I would put something under there to make it stable because you never know when it can wobble. Maybe tomorrow there will be an earth quake. Be ready for anything! I'm just saying it's better to be safe than sorry right?

It may be worth investing in a vertical stand for the PS4.

Yeah even if you'll never knock it off, a stupid ass friend or pet eventually will. My cat knocked my PS2 off a shelf, then peed on it for good measure just a few weeks ago.:(

cheers guys ,, no chance of it being knocked off as it sits on a low side unit,,, more chance if it where vertical really,,esp with a curious one year old that roams my living room. My PS4 is actually quite stable and doesn't slip or anything on the surface its on,,, was more curious about the disc scratching claims more than anything.

Haha reminds me of when my mum's cat (who was a 5 month old kitten at the time) ran across the laminate flooring in the living room whilst my Xbox 360 was vertical.

She skidded right into the 360, knocked it over and my copy of Fifa 09 had a lovely new circle scratched into the disk :D

Haha cats are a menace! At least she only scratched the disc, my PS2 was uberfried.

I don't see why it would scratch discs, unless it wobbled like it was having a seizure or something. Speaking of cats, when I was 13 my old cat took a crap on my Metal Gear Solid 1 disc that I set on the floor to switch discs and had to use the bathroom, came back... crap... everywhere. I cleaned it though cause I love MGS lol

I have solved the problem to the wobble!

The use of Tractor Beams to keep the unit in place, in mid air! Behold my mind at work!

It's not going to wobble easily as I've mentioned before. You need to apply quite a bit of force with your finger to really move it. If something big jumps on it, you don't need the console to wobble to scratch discs and damage the console.
