How did you get your PS3?

Mine was a birthday gift from my girlfriend. She saved a lot of money to be able to afford that thing and I really love her for doing that. She isn't really a gamer girl though she likes to play sometimes when it comes to more fun games or girlish ones.

Because of that it's even more amazing she did that.

So that's my story? What's yours?

I wanted to get the PS3 when it came out but if you guys remember correctly it was a complete frenzy to get one. I remember some people were shot, thats how desperate people were to get the PS3. They were sold out anywhere and you had to be extremely lucky to get one. My dad was luckily at a Gamestop a week after it came out and a shipment of PS3's came in. He quickly bought one and so did 5 other people that were at the store.

I got a Wii when it and the PS3 launched, but eventually grew tired. So I saved up a lot of money (including my birthday money) and sold a bunch of stuff and got a PS3 early August 2008, as well as a copy of MGS4

I was actually quite late to get it because I only got it about 2 years ago. By that time the price had dropped nicely and there would still be a good couple of years for me to enjoy some of the classic games on it and so I bought it second hand with a bunch of games.

Bought it at the end of 2009 because I grew weary of the xbox 360 and I missed my playstation heritage

I had an Xbox 360 for a couple of years. I got a little bored with it and had always wanted to try a PS3 and I didn't have a lot of money to purchase one - so I traded my 360 for the PS3. Had a great time, but then started missing the 360 so guess what? I traded my PS3 for the 360. To make myself sound even more crazy, I think I did that once more with each console. Yep, I was indecisive! But finally, I got financially better so I now own both - even though one gets a lot more attention for me (have a guess )
