Mario on Ps4

If your reading this then it means your as interested in this as I am. Now I know this is extremely unlikely if not impossible but I'm wondering how many people would like to see this happen. I must admit Mario is probably my all time favorite character as I stated my video game Endeavor with the original Nintendo. I have switched over to playstation since it's original console. This ofcourse is just wishful thinking, but I would kill for a Mario 64 style game on a playstation console. Thoughts?

I love this idea.
I don't think in my life time that would happen.
Nintendo would have to go out of business like sega.
Which sega did they went to making games afterward.

But if you love Mario like we do here by the wii u.
Great console. We love the system so much we bought two.
Not to mention that their the only system with Zelda.
They also have that on lock and key.

It will never happen. As much as Sony and Xbox fans say that they want to see Nintendo software on other systems the simple fact is that there is a really good chance that they wouldn't buy the games. Nintendo style series like Ni No Kuni already don't do that well and I don't trust PS4 and Xbox One owners to support the software. If you love Nintendo games than support the company by making the Wii U your second console.

To be honest, Nintendo would be far better off branching their franchises out to other companies, if only to make more sales. Compared to its competitors it is rearing in dead last, and possesses a fan base that is probably slowly dwindling as we type. It is not likely to ever happen, at least not a collaboration between Nintendo and Sony. Perhaps with another company or console, but gone are their golden days of the GameCube, something they desperately need to claw back.

I will end up getting the wii u simply because I love playing Mario and Zelda games but I haven't yet because I have not seen a Mario game similar to the older Mario games. Im not feeling the Mario paper or Mario kart type games. I want the Mario of old. Imagine a new Mario game with an open world. Unless I missed the bus, I haven't seen one in a while.

I used to love Super Mario brothers back in the day in the arcade and then when it came out on NES or SNES. However, I really don't care for Mario games these days but Nintendo is probably going to run into an issue with their big casual gaming market. The problem is tablets and phones where you can get a ton of casual games for free or 99 cents. I don't think that many people are going to buy the Wii U (Dumbest console name ever) for Mario and Zelda (and I do like Zelda). The Wii U is a little more powerful than the PS3 supposedly but that makes it about 6 - 7 years out of date.

If Wii U Sales are bad then I would not rule out the option of Mario being sold like Sega pimped out Sonic and Friends.

However, I know this is unlikely but with Microsoft NA an Nintendo NA Headquarters literally being right across from each other, I really could see a future Microsoft Console co made with Nintendo. This might give MS the leverage to take Sony out if they focus on the hardcore gamers while supporting Mario and friends. It could be a business partnership that would be hard to beat. It would have to be the Nintendo Xbox 2 or whatever so that it would sell in Japan. I have to say this would be one of the most interesting business ideas to hit the video game industry. I know it wont likely happen but it would be interesting if it did.

Did you know that Nintendo was responsible for the first PlayStation? Nintendo had hired Sony to make them a console but backed out and went with the N64. Sony was in to far to throw it away and released the PlayStation on the world. So even though you will never see a Nintendo game on the PlayStation If not for them we wouldn't have a PlayStation to want a Nintendo game on.

Wow. Never knew that part.. Very interesting to say the least. While I do like Mario, I agree it will never see daylight on playstation platform.

Did not know this. That's crazy

Yeah. I believe it was supposed to be called the Nintendo PlayStation, right? Something like that. Don't fully remember the story.

As for Nintendo stuff on other consoles, to be honest I'd rather not see them on Sony or MS consoles. Would be the end of an era and a sad moment in Nintendo history when it migrates from a first party platform to third party.

I think you're being naive in thinking that Nintendo games would do well on Sony or Microsoft consoles. Here's what would happen, Zelda and Mario on the PS4 and Xbox One and then they don't sell. Because they won't, because the vast majority of Sony and Microsoft fans for whatever reason aren't interested in Nintendo games. I would rather not see that happen. If anything I would rather that Nintendo with their next console, learn from the mistakes that they made with the Wii U.

Development of the format started in 1988, when Nintendo signed a deal with Sony to produce a CD-ROM add-on for the SNES. After several years of development, Sony introduced a standalone console at 1991's summer Consumer Electronics Show called the "Play Station." The system was to be compatible with existing SNES titles as well as titles released for the SNES-CD format. However, due to licensing disagreements with Sony, Nintendo announced that it had formed an alliance with Sony's rival Philips to produce the SNES-CD add-on.[1][2]

Gotta love Wikipedia!

I'd love to play a Mario game on the PS4, but I doubt it'll ever happen. Just imagine playing it using the sixaxis. It would be awesome.

That alliance with Phillips was how we got those baaaaaad Mario and Zelda CD-i games. Baaaaad, baaaaad. There was also another more traditional sidescrolling Mario game that looked similar to Mario World that was in development for CD-i I think, but that stopped. That was also one of those moments where Nintendo's first party franchises appeared outside of a Nintendo console (if you don't include the educational games).

To the original question: No.

Does nobody think it is feasible that Microsoft and Nintendo could create a console together? I am not thinking it is likely but I think it could happen if the Wii U sales remain bad and Microsoft ends up in last place again which looks very likely considering the hardware advantage and better exclusives the PS4 has. It is pretty much common knowledge that the PS4 has more powerful hardware and costs $100 less and I don't think many people care about Kinect.

If Disney can buy Star Wars, anything is possible.

Honestly, its too early to say that Xbox will be in last. It sold pretty well on its launch and both consoles have been out for a month. Remember what happened when PS3 came out. They had a really crappy launch, didn't sell too many and were plagued with supply issues and not many games. They caught up and did well. Don't count MS out yet.

No, I like my Nintendoables on Nintendo platforms.

Though if Nintendo did go multiplatform then I would prefer them to develop for Sony than Microsoft so that they don't lose out on the Japanese culture.

I am looking at Microsoft providing the hardware and Server Infrastructure but Nintendo providing the 1st party titles that they normally would make for the consoles.

I am not saying Nintendo should go the way of the Sega. They would be developing for the shared console between Microsoft and Nintendo.

Also, I agree Microsoft has not lost the console wars but even with Sony 1 year behind releasing the PS3 at a crazy price, it overtook MS in the end because of the incredible power the PS3 had compared to the 360 when it came to exclusives.\

I am basically just projecting Sony as the winner just wondering if their could be the right conditions for MS and Nintendo to team up.

However, the Xbone does not appear to have near the graphic capabilities of the PS4 and with both consoles launching at the same time and the Sony killer exclusives, I find it hard to believe MS will win at this point. The DRM scare and pricing sent a lot of fanboys of MS to a PS4 this generation. There is also the forcing of Kinect on users which is crap.

Lets just pretend the WII U is a terrible failure and the Xbone bombs and Sony wins the console war 3 to 1 over Microsoft. Would it not be conceivable for Microsoft and Nintendo to consider a joint console?
