Just announced at Gamescon, The PS4 is hitting the USA on November 15th. Ibelieve he said the PS4 release date for November 29th in other territories but i may be wrong. So about a week and half before black Friday. Puts the October rumor to bed.

That's confirmed right? I guess Oberon won the guess the release date of the PS4, darn I was 2 days off, haha. Anyways, that is still pretty good news considering rumors were saying it was going to launch in late December. Exactly two months from today for me, I guess it's worth the wait. November 29th is the release date for Europe, unfortunately. Now all we need is the release date for the Xbox One.

This is good news for those getting the PS4 on release. They have plenty of time to break it in before Black Friday and Christmas players come and noob up the place haha.This is a good move for Sony and I think it's perfect timing. It'd be wise for Microsoft to get a jump by releasing a week earlier than Sony but this is unlikely.

Thanks for confirming the date. I haven't pre ordered it and I don't plan on. Most likely won't buy it 2-3 years after it comes out. Cheaper, and probably a better model.

And it sucks for you who don't live in North America, you get the console late.

Does anyone have any idea why the release date for Europe is so much later? I know that companies will often do that with games as well - I've never really stopped to wonder why that's the case.

Either way, I guess they want to get the console out in time for Christmas season.

Any guesses if xb1 will release before or after PS4?

Oh yeah baby! On your face Microsoft, on your face. I as going to buy and Xbox One, but now that they have delayed the condole in all the Asian regions, PS4 is the only way to go.

Well, even though it isn't being released as early as October, this is still a pretty awesome release date for those of us in North America. It allows for pretty much a full week of sales before the biggest shopping day of the year which is Black Friday. Now that the PlayStation 4 release date has been announced, I'm curious to see what the release date will be for the Xbox One.

My guess would be perhaps a week before the release of the PS4.

My prediction was way off course. I thought that Sony would be releasing it in the first or second week of December. Anyway, I'm still getting the console next year so, no worries. Maybe I'll just be getting myself a PS Vita.
