PS4 HDD is upgradeable

And yes, PS4's HDD is upgradable like PS3 <3

This was rumored but I never saw it confirmed. Who is will to put an SSD in there to see if it improves performance? More likely I will through a 1.5TB drive in there myself.

While if that is true then it sounds like it would be pretty cool, through I doubt I will be one to upgrade it. So I hope people that actually care about such matters enjoy this, if it is in fact not a rumor.

That's awesome. Although I probably won't upgrade mine as I buy most games on disc, but still it is nice to have the option now :)

Does this mean you can hook up any HDD to it or does it mean that you can buy a 500Gb PS4 and in the future upgrade it to a 1Tb Sony HDD?

I don't like messing around too much with the system, and now I just hook up an external hard drive, so I'll probably just do that with this system if possible. If it's easy, though, I'd look into it more since it will look a lot better with less things hooked up to it.

I doubt I will be upgrading mine, I've got a 250GB for my Xbox 360 and I never used more than a couple of gigs, but still it's good to know that we have this option out there in case we want to use it.

If thats true it will be good for some users but i think we don´t really need to upgrade it unsless you buy many games in PSN

I think the games will be much larger so installing any portion of them will consume a ton of HD space. I believe there were some documented reports of SSDs on the PS3 as well. In addition, if you need room for movies and things like that this is a great feature.

that's nice. Now we can't be forced to delete games if our HDD fills up. I'll probally go to Terabyte hard drives with the ps4.

This is good news! I believe Sony had also confirmed.
I think it will be easy to reach the 500GB after a few years.

My PS3 160GB quickly reaches its limittes with demos and games! The games will weigh more and more heavily on hard disk.

I admit that 500GB is already perfect! But it is always reassuring to know that we can upgrade at any time .

That's good news of course. I hate devices with unupgradeable components. But, just a thought, consoles are becoming more and more like PCs - offering upgradeable hard drives and multimedia stuff. Would there come a time when these two would finally merge and become one?

I absolutely love the idea of a digital collection on a hard drive and all, but to be honest, if I really wanted something like that, I would use my laptop. That is not to say I will not be using it, though, as I bet not only I, but everyone can benefit from having, say, their favorite games directly on the hard drive so that the steps of getting up and inserting a disk are eliminated altogether. It could probably serve as a way to increase immersion, too.

Given that, I do not think I will be upgrading my hard drive above 1TB if such a thing is even needed, since the one that comes installed with the system can already hold more or less fifty to one hundred games. I doubt I even bought that many for the PS3 for the entire five years I have had it. I am certain some enthusiasts will be more than pleased to hear about this one, though!
