PS4 will support cross-platform party chat

Seem you can party chat with PS4 between Vita,no word on PS3 AFAIK but I would hope you can at least see your PS3 friends online if on PS3 and vice versa,and you would also at least be able to send messages.

Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida confirms PlayStation 4 users can communicate with PlayStation Vita friends.

I hope they make it so that the PS3 and the PS4 can send messages to each other. What would be really cool would be if you could play games on the PS3 with your PS4 friends. Not that would be cool. Still pretty good though that the Vita and the PS4 can communicate.

Sounds like a basic function that everything should have from the beginning, but somehow it's a new feature for this new generation. I just wish consoles could be at the same level as the PC.

That's a good move. A cross chat with the Playstation 3 would be ideal though. I wouldn't be surprised if they do this.

Though I havent any official info I think that wont be possible,but hopefully we should be able to send messages from PS4 to PS3 and vice versa.
The Xbone will be able to do this with 360 so here's hoping we can at least do that too.

The chat between PS3 and PS4 would be good enough. It would be too much to run games from the PS4 with your PS3 friends. In theory everything should connect anyway because they are going to use the play station network to sign people up. The network is separate to consoles so this would work definitely, but we will wait and see.

This sounds pretty cool, I have some friends who have a PS3 and don't plan on upgrading. It would be great to be able to chat with them.

Like I said,I doubt you will be able to voice chat with them,only send messages.

I kind of expected such a feature, considering how they're trying to really make the PS4 and Vita work together. I've never used the Party app on the Vita, but regardless this is a nice feature.

That does sound like a pretty cool feature if you ask me. I am looking forward to the release of the Playstation 4, I am pumped for all these features.

This seems pretty cool. I think anything that makes for easier conectivity between players is a good thing in gaming. I suppose this makes PS4 a little more worth the wait then.

For a moment I thought that you talking about the cross-platform between PS3 and PS4. I'm still happy to see that the PS Vita will not be set aside.
There is very little chance of seeing the PS3 back into the chat system Cross-platform. I hope at least to send a simple message using the PSN.

I heard that we can see our friends list from the three gaming platforms from Sony. So logically, the sending of messages is possible.
I admit that I do not see much use to chat with a PS Vita players ... But that is my personal opinion.
