Retailer Claims GTA 5 is Coming to PlayStation 4

Grand Theft Auto V will soon be heading to PlayStation 4, if a Portuguese retailer is to be believed.

A listing on Worten claims that the game will be coming to Sony's platform, though stops short of giving a release date.

When contacted by Eurogamer.pt, the site responded with the following message (via Google Translate): "We have the information that Worten stores will sell the game in question."

What's especially interesting is the fact that a deposit is being asked for in order to confirm pre-orders. While this is far from conclusive, this could mean that the retailer is convinced it won't have to offer consumers refunds.

Well this would certainly be interesting and contradictory to everything that Rockstar has said so far. Still it is a very enticing idea in my opinion, since the power house that is the PS4 would take the technical marvel that is GTA5 to a whole new level. While we should definitely take this news with a grain of salt, what d you guys think of the rumor? Would you pick it up for your PS4 even if you already played it on the last gen consoles?

I'd skip this. I loved the SP, but I've already played it once, the story will stay the same if I played it again.

The MP side doesn't warrant a re-purchase for next gen IMO. It was fun for a while, but it didn't take too long for glitchers and cheaters to ruin it.. Plus, where the hell is the heists? The game has been out for 6 months now, and Rockstar won't address the issue.

Personally, no. I wouldn't be interested in having to buy GTA5 again as/when I get a PS4. I've already completed the story in full, completed all side missions, explored the map more or less entirely and have done a reasonable chunk of the extra activities, such as golf, trying some stunt jumps e.t.c. I'm quite happy to leave it there. I'm not planning on getting rid of my PS3 following purchasing a PS4, so there's no point really.

The only way I would be willing to get it again is either once prices have dropped right down (i.e – pick up a second hand one) or something goes wrong with the PS3.

Dav1980's suspicions that it could be a retailer trying to get traffic sound valid to me. Personally I wouldn't pick up GTA V soon-ish after I played it on the previous generation. I would probably pick it up like a year or so later on current generation consoles just to have something to play while waiting on something I'd put money down on.

I hope Rockstar announce something very soon and end all the speculation.

Well that's kind of crappy if they do IMO. We probably wouldn't have bought it when it came out had we know it would be on Next Gen. My husband doesn't even touch the older consoles anymore. I wonder how many people will buy a next gen copy if they already own it for the PS3 or 360.

I have if for PS3,played the campaign once through,tried the MP briefly when it first came out and havent gone back to it.
Still,I would be damn tempted to get on PS4,but as I said before,depends on really how much better it looks and if it offers anything additional.

Think I'd wait for a second hand copy to buy it, never been a fan of it but hear good things about 5. Too early to say what the graphics would be like, if it's a facelift of the ps3 I wouldn't expect much difference. I'm of the opinion that we won't go "wow" when a game loads up until the end of the year when games come along that have been developed for ps4 and dumbed down to be put out for ps3 systems.

This is the only reason I'd pick up one for PS4: if I hadn't played it on PS3 or 360 (which I have).

Ehh, I don't know. I could say no since I have it for PS3 and still end it up picking it up anyways just to have something I'd play on PS4. If does hit PS4 I don't see anything extra being added. That said, I think this is will turn out to just be rumor and bait for the retailer.
