So I've done and filled my hard drive

Sniper Kitten
I'm trying to install the update for No Mans Sky so I can build me some bases and it wouldn't download. The error message told me I was out of space. After looking at the graph of how much space I had, I was dumbfounded that I filled my hard drive. After deleting some of my prized capture videos, I have it installing now. So, now I need a new hard drive. I'm thinking 4TB. What hard drives have you guys installed? Does PS4 support up to 4TB?

Wow,dunno. I swapped mine for a 1TB one on launch day.
Dunno if it supports 4TB HDD,havent checked up on that What about that external adapter one instead? http://ps4forum.com/394-playstation...s/8871-hard-drive-expansion-nyko-dongcoh.html

I've seen that before. Not interested in cluttering up my entertainment center more, lol. I'd much rather max out the hard drive capability and not worry about a second hard drive. I've always had good luck with Toshiba's (one external is going on a decade now and still daily use!). My desktop has 2 Toshiba internals I think? Also threw a Toshiba in my PS3 So may get another one of those, lol. What are the specs that are required?

Theoretically there is no limit on HDD size for a PS4. I'd pay attention on power consumption though, due to the more RPMs required.
I'd choose a HDD which has exctly the same specifications as the original, only with more storage capability.

I have had to delete the game data for a few games to make way for new. 500 gigs is certainly not enough this day and age. I will eventually be upgrading the hard drive, going to probably put 1 TB in, for me that should be plenty. Will definitely be going with SSD for the speed bump it offers.

I have read that that the PS4 supports up to a 4 TB HDD. Part of the 3.50 firmware update. After that it might be a crap shoot. As far as 2.5 HDD's go, So far the biggest that I have found that will fit in the PS4 is a 2 TB. While there are bigger 2.5 HDD's the dimensions of them will not allow them to fit in the HDD cradle of the PS4. I have a 2TB in mine but I only have about 200 GB left. I am searching hard to find a bigger HDD that will fit in the PS4. My brothers boy has a nyko data bank but it makes the PS4 look horrible. Good luck with what ever you choose and if you find a 2.5 HDD bigger then 2TB that will fit in a PS4 let me know.

Thanks D. I'll have some time to research today since my condo hunt isn't going to take up my entire weekend for once. I think we can help each other out. If I find anything, I'll throw up the link. Good thing for me is I have a birthday in 9 days and I never told my family what to chip in for. A new hard drive would be perfect ;)
