What was the last movie you watched?

I have Amercian Werewolf in London on blu ray, classic awesome movie mate.
Have you seen American Werewolf in Paris? (made in 1997) Mostly CG type redo movie, its actually OK though.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118604/

I actually have seen An American Werewolf in Paris and yes, it was actually decent. Mind you I saw it a looong time ago. But I remember liking it, plus it has Julie Delpy and she's fantastic.

PACIFIC RIM

Been looking forward to this one and happy to say I liked it. Big robots vs kaiju's? What more could you ask for! Didn't really feel like a Del Toro film though, but that's not saying it's a bad thing. I do like his style and films, this film just didn't seem like it was made by him. Although I will say I wanted this film to be up there with Man of Steel, but sadly it wasn't but it was still great. Recommended.

Good.

THE FLY (1986)

Day 3 of our horror movie a day in October thingy. Had always been curious about The Fly as I like David Cronenberg (especially Videodrome) and everybody seems to love it. I can see why as this film is great. Jeff Goldblum is a hit and miss for me usually, but here he was really really good. The effects are top notch (for its time) and quite disturbing - but hey, this is Cronenberg we're talking about here. I haven't great things about it's sequel though, but I think I'll give it a shot one day this month. Hoping Australia will get a blu-ray release of The Fly! Would be great to see.

Good.

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON

Let me tell you this, the trailer is very off-putting. That's why it's taken me three years to see this as I thought it was just going to be another Shrek rip-off. I'm glad I saw it because my presumptions were completely wrong in every way. This film is absolutely amazing. It is much more adult then you would think. Sure, there are a few goofy laughs that will please children, and hey, even adults too. But this is a very heart-warming emotional film. Voice-acting is excellent, the story is just fantastic. Be sure to see this, as I really think this is on par with Toy Story... I think. Ready for this?...

Outstanding!

Im not much into all the CG kiddy movies..lol.They dont hold my interest no matter how clever they are, even though much of the dialog etc appeals to adults.
But when I do watch them I defo prefer to watch those sorts of movies in 3D,more fun at least.
So I do own a few actually, but blu ray 3D ones.

I admit I'm not really into them much either. But I saw they gave it a 8.1 on IMDB and I was just curious to see why. Now I know :)

I just watched the movie The Raven. I thought it was very good. John Cusac did a great job playing Edgar Allan Poe in this movie. This movie takes place at the last weeks of Poe's death. There is someone out there killing people exactly like it is described in his poems. Poe has to work with the police to catch the killer before he takes the life if tge woman he loves. The suspense is good and the end surprised me a little. Overall I think this is a good movir and I recommend checking it out.

Don Jon: 3.5/5
Gravity: 4.5/5 (although I suspect this score to drop to a 4/5 should I watch it a second time...)

HORROR OF DRACULA

Never seen a Hammer horror film. Actually, that's a lie. I've seen "The Women In Black" but I'm talking about the old classic Lee/Cushing collaborations. So I've gotten my hands on both "Horror of Dracula" and "The Mummy", in which I'll most likely be watching tonight. Anyway, really liked this one. Never seen the original Universal Monsters version but I do own it just never got around to viewing it. Christopher Lee was so good as Dracula. Frightening. Peter Cushing was quite good too as Van Helsing. Although I which Lee's Dracula would talk a lot more. Really, he speaks at the start of the film and then... that's it. Now I've heard he doesn't even utter a line in the sequel Pince of Darkness because he did not like the script one bit. Will definitely give the sequel a go though. So yeah, overall a good movie. Suspenseful stuff.

Good.

THE BURNING

Whenever you hear about Friday the 13th rip-offs, this film is often mentioned and I can see why. Something happens to a guy that sees him burnt by camp kids, he's still alive and seeks revenge so he goes to the camp where he was burned to off camp counsellors and their kids. Sound familiar? Well believe it or not, it was actually made BEFORE Friday the 13th, but was released a year after said movie. Anyways, I found this good. nothing special. Nothing that will make you think it is a masterpiece. It is a slasher film. Nothing more. But that's not a bad thing. If you enjoy the Friday films, then this should be a no-brainer.

Good.

CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD

This one was... well not the greatest. It started off really good but just went downhill. The bad acting killed this movie and with a cheap ending that just made you angry. I will admit the blood and gore was pretty good (even though I'm not into that type of thing) Also, sometimes you just wanted to yell at the characters when they would just stare at whatever was going on when they really should be running for their lives! So all in all not very good, started off great but just went downhill.

LIFEFORCE

Have always been curious about this film. When I was little, there was a video store that had a couple of posters actually painted on their store. This was one of them. The poster intrigued me and now, many years later I had the opportunity to see this Tobe Hooper flick. And it was pretty good. Really good premise, and I suppose if you like seeing a naked girl for half the movie - well more power to you. Anyway, great performances, great direction and story. The only downside is that at times you felt real dumb because the movie likes to confuse you, that and I felt it went on a little too long. Recommended if you like sci-fi horror's. Especially if you liked Species.

CHOPPING MALL

I don't know if this film is widely known. What it is is a film set in a shopping mall, where security robots malfunction turning them into killing robots go around and kill everything that moves. This involves teenagers partying after hours in a furniture store, janitors and security guards. Sounds terrible right? Well what if I told you this was actually a good little fun movie? Crazy right? Well that's what this film is. A good little fun horror flick about killer robots. That's all there is to say. If you take it seriously, then you'll be entering this movie in the wrong mind-set. Recommend this if you want a flick with a dumb plot but a good time to go with it.

THE PROWLER

Ever since my girlfriend and I started watching a horror flick a night for the whole of October in celebration for Halloween, we've been waiting for something to stand out. Something that we can back to and say "Damn, that was a great movie". Well, good news - we found it in 1980's "The Prowler". It's another "run of the mill" 1980's slasher flick. Someone goes around on an anniversary killing people, this anniversary being the first graduation party in over 30 years due to an "incident" at the last party in 1945. Man, what a great film this was. The pacing was great, suspense was at top of its game, the cast were in a rare case for a horror movie, likeable! I'm certain people who may watch this will think it wasn't that good at all, but I don't know - I/we found something special with this film and is for sure the highlight of this month so far. My only complaint is that it seemed to end suddenly with a few plots left to be resolved, but aside from that - fantastic. Recommended if you love 80's slasher flicks!

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (on Bluray)

The picture restoration is great on the Bluray. It's the same length as the Italian original, but the scenes that were taken out for the American theatrical release didn't have English dubs on them, so they brought in Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach to do dub work. Pretty sweet. And the audio restoration is pretty good, too. 5.1 surround sound.

Such an amazing film! I have it on Blu-ray as well, but have yet to watch it on Blu.

Yeah, I had it for a while before watching it.

On The Waterfront
Rating: Great

I had this recorded on my dvr and got around to watching it. Brando was a stud in every sense of the word, and Eva Saint Marie couldn't be more of a 10. The acting was cheesy in a few spots, but for a film from 1954, the acting was great overall. Good cinematography, too. Definitely check it out, especially if you're a fan of Brando.

Global Metal (documentary)
Rating: Great

This is a documentary about metal. This dude goes to a bunch of countries around the world to document their metal cultures. Very interesting interviews. Obviously, if you're a metalhead, check this out.

The Butterfly Effect.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0289879/

From 2004,have watched it in a while but I have it on blu ray and watched it again the other day.
As far as Im concerned the best movie Ashton Kutcher (Kelso from That 70's Show) is in.
There were some sequels by name only with similar stories but nowhere near as good as this.
My blu ray is the theatrical version but the DVD I had is the Directors Cut and I much prefer the ending on that one,its different.

9/10

I just watched The Man With the Iron Fists. This was a good movie. A great shout out to old kung fu movies. I think they did an excellent job and this movie had all the good kung fu elements. Action, drama, romance, comedy and plenty of flying around moves. I liked this movie.
