When did you get your first PlayStation 1? (Year and month)

My sister actually received a PlayStation 1 as a reward for getting a 100 on her standardized state test. It was around April 1997. I was in the same assembly hall when she was awarded the PlayStation 1 and I remember being so excited. They also gave her a copy of spyro which wasn't a bad game.

Wait.. Spyro the Dragon wasn't released until September 10th, 1998.. The first Spyro game was released on September 10th, 1998, which was Spyro the Dragon of course. Are you sure it wasn't 1998 or 1999?

Oh crap, thanks for the correction. It must have been a demo disk or something because I am pretty sure it wasn't in 1999.

I got mine in for Christmas in 1998, I believe, my parents had bought it for me as a gift, along with a few games but sadly, I don't remember what those were.

It was decemeber 25th but I honestly cannot remember the year. I know for sure that it was on december 25th.

Sometime in 2000 after the PS2 had come out. My brother had bought himself a PS2 and gave me his old PS1 and Tekken 2.

My first ps1 took a longer route to get to me. My mom practically forced me to use my savings account to buy one for her new boyfriend in the fall of 1996. I remember sneaking into their room when no one was home and playing rayman and resident evil for hours. When the fling inevitably wore off, she gave me the ps1 instead of paying me back my money. I ended up keeping the ps1 and selling my sega saturn. That was when the gaming bug hit. All the releases that me and my friends would wait for and talk about non stop.... FF7, RE2, the latest triple play baseball, etc. That's probably the saddest part of getting older and having a family. I still play games a bunch but it's never quite like it was when we were skipping school to take a day trip to the city and hit up the electronics boutique. Good times

I believe we got our first PSX back in 1998. It was actually my brother's for his birthday. I just used it Though half the games were both of ours. My brother got out of video games by the time PS2 came around and I inherited the PSX (which still works today) and all the games. So win win for me
