Why did you buy a Playstation?

For me I don't have a special reason why I decided to buy the PlayStation since I was only manipulated by a friend to do it. My friend and I had seen guys play this game and for that reason we planned to share the cost of such game console and buy one. And truly we did though for me I only did it because my best friend had proposed for it.

So I can sit on my couch and enjoy games on my TV. Way better compared to a crappy chair and a computer monitor. Also competitive gaming (I mean with my friends) is better that way, and we do that at least one time a week. And the third reason, all you need to do is download/input cd or play. As simple as it gets.

I remember as a kid the only real reason I played the Playstation 1 was for Tekken and FF7. Other than that my N64 dominated my time.

I got a Playstation 1 because my father bought it for me when I was about 9 or so. The reason? He loved Beast Wars the tv show and he loved computer graphics so he wanted to try it. He liked it, but sucked at it, he got 2 games, crash bandicoot and ace combat. He told me to play them and I was like "OMFG YES" so I played, addicted within 5 seconds. No joke.

The reason I got a Playstation 2 was because of all the Playstation games that interested me and I never got to play because I was too poor. Once the fifth generation had ended, I got a Playstation 2 and snatched up a bunch of Playstation games for cheap. Playstation 2 games were neat too, but I never really got a lot of them because they were too expensive at the time.

Similar to Richie. I couldn't afford a PS2 and was playing PS1 well into 2007. I'd go over a friend's house to play it and finally got one in 2007, by that time PS3 was already out. Got my PS3 sometime later.

I didn't buy my PS1 but it was one of the best gifts ever. It was the first console I had that played 3D games, although I did play the N64 briefly (didn't own it, though). I was reluctant to buy a PS2 for some reason but then I thought deeply about it and decided that I needed one. That's what got me into third-party games and exclusive RPGs that hooked me on PlayStation in general.

RPGs were the only reason to really get a PS. I was still playing SNES when I heard Final Fantasy would be leaving Nintendo consoles and going to PS1. That's when I made the jump with PS as my main console.

Well when the PS1 came out I was obviously quite young and my parents bought it. That's really want introduced me to gaming and I guess ever since then I've been hooked. I did briefly have a relationship with the Xbox but I only played 3 games and then gave up. It wasn't even mine, it was my cousins and he gave it to me.

I remember buying the PlayStation 1 (PSX) in early-mid 1999 and I really loved playing video games. It coped with my ADHD (and it wasn't even diagnosed and people didn't know what ADHD was back then). My Dad bought it for me one day to see if it helped with me and it did! While he would work on a car on car stereo at work, he would set up a tube tv from his work (it was called Risley's and it's still in business, but he quit and got hired at Toyota TMMI in October, 2002) and hook it up from there! My first video game ever was Spyro the Dragon (the first one ever, the one that came out September, 1998) and I played the hell out of that game. I beat it multiple times and I know I was only like 1 and a half almost 2 years old in mid-early 1999 but I knew what games was and I knew how to play them. People at his work were amazed to see me playing video games at a really, really young age, then I got a PlayStation 2 (PS2) sometime in 2001, like late 2001, like in December and I played it, it was really fun but I still played the PlayStation 1 (PSX) more. I grew up with that thing and I still have my PlayStation 1 to this day! I still have my PlayStation 2 but unfortunately...it fried...I left it on all the time and it fried the power supply in it but I have another one that I use and it works great! I've had it since the last PlayStation 2 fried and I have another one too that works! LOL, but yeah that's how I started playing video games and I got a PlayStation. Man...good ol' times...I miss my childhood so much...I just got a PlayStation 3 on Christmas, 2012 (the PS3 says it was manufactured June, 2012) and I play it too! I still play the PS2 and the PSX and I also have a PSOne that my Dad got for me in October, 2000 and they came out in early July, 2000, so they just like came out. Just like it's been a month since the PS4 came out. I miss my childhood a lot. I wish I could go back, but life goes on...

I bought a PS1 because a friend had one, and I thought it was the most amazing system ever at the time. (and it was) I didn't know much at all about the system, and it looked really ugly and awkward at first. He had it and invited me over to play this thing called a Playstation. I was hooked ever since.

I bought the PS2 because of Tekken and God of War really. I was kind of a money waster back then and as soon as I got my hands on my salary I would just blew it off all in one shot and the result was the PS2, which is a really good waste of money if you ask me, I've had tons of fun with the PS2 even though I only had like 10 games in my library.

The reason why I bought the PlayStation 2 was only so I could play the Grand Theft Auto series at release. The Xbox couldn't play GTA till a couple of years later so I had to buy the PlayStation 2. As far as the PlayStation 1 goes, my sister won one for doing good in school.

Well I think the main reason we ("I") have Play stations and Xbox is simply just because of the games I am following like Battlefield,CoD and games like Skyrim and many more.

I bought the PS1 because of the available games on it, and it was next gen during that time. Loved it and had great memories with it. PS2 because it was a sure step up over my PS1 and it did not disappoint, then I bought a XBOX 360 but it had RROD in about 3 months, hated it for that, got a PS3 Slim and played it till its end.

Playstation fan here.

I had gotten a Playstation 1 for Christmas when I was really young and then when the PS2 came out, I was excited, because I could still play my PS1 games on it and there would be a whole bunch of other stuff coming out for it.

I wanted a hardcore gaming Device. I realised buying an expensive of wouldn't cost me more so I got the PlayStation 4

Back then I would say that I got the console totally because a lot of my friends had the console and I really wanted to have it because of that and the other reason was that my parents were the ones that bought it for me. I saw my uncle playing it one day and it was one of the greatest things at that time that I thought I had ever seen. The reason that I got he PS2 was because of Tekken that game was one of the sweetest fighting games at the time. Oh yes I remember why I wanted a PS1 so bad it was because I saw someone playing Crash Bandicoot on it man that was a game.

I bought my Playstation 1 for Final Fantasy 7 too, and man was that a great game. Back then I didn't see any fanboys at all for any specific company, everyone saw consoles as just things to play games on. If you wanted to play another game on a different console, go to your friend's house or buy the console.
