Why is Call of Duty: Ghosts 720p on Xbox One and 1080p on PlayStation 4?

It's strange because the Xbox One should be able to handle be handle whatever the PS4 has graphically even though hardware wise the PS4 is better. But I don't get the decision to release the game on 720p. There's got to be something more that either Microsoft or IW isn't saying.

It might be just an issue of marketing/forced exclusivity. Same story as always, whoever pays more gets the benefits and the publicity. Same thing happens on PC too, AMD and nVidia are constantly at each other's throats when it comes to who gets new releases. It's pretty sad, but I guess competition benefits us in the end.

That could be true. I mean while there is confirmation that the PS4 is more powerful than the Xbox One, both consoles should be able to handle the same games. There has to be shenanigans going on behind the scenes that we're unaware of. Otherwise this shouldn't even be an issue, I do feel for the devs because why would anyone by the Xbox One version if it isn't going to look better.

Yeah,I think you are defo better off with 720P 60fps rather than 1080P at 30fps but the issue here is PS4 will do Ghosts at 1080P 60fps,so I guess to get that on the Xbone they needed to have it at 720P or risk lower framerate.

Not sure its entirely IW,as Ghosts wont be the only game on Xbone that cant do 1080P.

BINGO we have a winner. I have read this from several places. So now answer me this... how can those xbox one fanboys claim that "their " console is better? I think the hardware specs and stats tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!

I think it's confirmed that Ghosts isn't the only game on the Xbox One that won't be in 1080p but the explanations make no sense. Who knows why Microsoft does anything. The graphics don't really matter to me but when this is a major point of the console they need to figure out a solution and step it up.

The Playstation 4 having better specs in general helps as well. Can't say I notice much of a difference between the two resolutions, but at least the system I'm going to be gaming on has the better version of the two.

I will always think that the PS4 was better built simply because and a friend of mine say's this a lot, that Sony is a hardware company and Microsoft is primarily all about the software. Sony is just better at building their hardware and the PS4 is slightly superior to the Xbox One. And it's not bashing the Xbox One, not only have big name websites confirmed this but many developers have come out and said it. Though Microsoft has said that the Xbox One will have 1080p games, this really is just another case of the Pr team at Microsoft failing hard.

In my point of view, the biggest giant of software world, Microsoft, may not have done this kind of silly mistake. And additionally, they might have solved the issue too. However, we got a good game for PS4. Killzone is really a nice game to play.

True. I'm not willing to throw Microsoft under the bus for this or any other games that come out with 720p. It's not like 720p is awfult, just that the thing we were promised with these consoles was 1080p and so they'll be judged by that. We'll see what happens later but I'd like to this is just an abberation.
