Wolfenstein: The New Order delayed until 2014

Bethesda have announced that "Wolfenstein: The New Order" will be delayed until 2014, which was originally meant to release late this year.

Bethesda's Pete Hines has explained that the game is not ready as of yet:

"Working on next-gen and current gen definitely has an impact,” he said. “You're developing for two different things. The fact that the next-gen stuff is still moving is also definitely a factor.

"But the most important thing was definitely just looking where it was at, what they needed to polish. Because it's just not trying to be a shooter, bcause it's trying to be a shooter that also has driving elements, story elements, narrative, stealth sections - each one of those has to be excellent," he added.

I wouldnt mind getting this one,I had both Wolfenstein's on PS3 so look forward to a PS4 version.
btw Wolfenstein was 'OK' but I much prefered Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

I can't say I'm really all that thrilled for the new Wolfenstein because the last few games have not been that great I feel. I mean I could easily be surprised by this game and it could turn out being at least a good game but from past experience I'm just not getting that vibe.

Haven't played a Wolfenstein game in like... forever. That's why I'm not thrilled or disappointed with this announcement too. However, I commend them for not rushing the game to the store shelves to take advantage of the holidays. By opting to delay the game until next year, they would have ample time to improve the game and probably even make it a classic.

Had no idea Bethesda did wolfenstein, I will buy it though, the original freaked me out.

the original freaked me out.
What? Wolfenstein 3D freaked you out? :p

The Wolfenstein series has been a hit and mix, the original and return to the castle were excellent and probably some of the better fps games to ever come out, but the latest one was just weak. The idea was good but the execution was just average and what we got was a mediocre fps without the charm of wolfeinstein. I have high hopes for new order and I'm totally fine with them delaying it as long as it means that the game will be better. Let's just hope that we don't get a repeat of the last game and I will be satisfied.

Well yeah dude that shit was totally scary bro; I remember playing with headphones, at night, lights off and just screaming in the dark. I will never play another Wolfenstein game again because I doubt my heart could handle it.

I'm calling this one right now. This game is going to do very poorly, on both current and next gen systems. This game has no hype to it so far as I can tell. Not to mention from what I saw of the preview, this game isn't anything to write home about. Wolfenstein and Doom are games that were good back in the day, but don't translate well these days. Plus, didn't they already try a Wolfenstein remake a few years ago for the PS3 and 360. That too did bad.

Yeah - the Wolfenstein sequels haven't been good. They've been cashing in on the name. The one for the X-Box was very lackluster. I think in the world of CoD, Wolfenstein doesn't stand a chance.

Wait, they are releasing a new Wolfenstein game? After that failure of a game that was the "remake"?
Well, it's Bethesda, let's hope they will do a fine job creating it.

Are there at least a teaser or some images?

I do not have any problems with developers deciding to delay games. I think that it is usually a very good idea and in the end the consumer gets a more polished product. We've seen with other launches, like BF4, that games can be rushed into release and suffer as a result. I am very excited to play this game, I think it looks like a lot of fun; however, I am more than happy to wait a little while longer so that I receive a better gaming experience.
