What did you like about Final Fantasy 9?

Final Fantasy 9 is one of my beloved games in the PS 1 library. I love it even more than FFVII. The characters reverted back to small, cute characters and the game had more focus on characterization as compared to FFVIII which seemed to shun other supporting characters. I loved the different locations too. They were more diverse as compared to FF8 IMO. Turn based battle could be a bit boring at first but I still love it. Did you like the game as much as I did?

Although, I am not into the FF series, I loved the game. I really loved how it played. The characters were memorable.

I loved FFIX. It is one of my favorites of that series. I have played that game about four times now. I just keep going back to no matter how many times I play it. I like Zidane, he is my favorite character. I liked how he was trying to flirt with the princess when they first met and I loved how they did the ending as well. I liked how Zidane threw off his cloak and asked dagger to come to him. I almost cried at that ending, but instead I just smiled hugely. I loved all the characters from vivi and steiner to eiko and the chocobos. I think that this was one of the best games in the series. That's just my opinion though.

Seeing how it was the last Final Fantasy on the PS1, it had the best graphics, best CGI cutscenes, the soundtrack was wonderful and the game was back to the fantasy roots. Not a lot of people enjoyed it, but i really liked it, special the Vivi characters.

Everything. It's one of my favorite FFs along with 12. I liked the aesthetics of the environments, the characters, the spells, the creatures; I liked the audio and soundtrack (Kuja's theme is awesome); I liked the side quests and mini games. Everything. I don't think there was one thing about the game that wasn't endearing for me. The complete opposite effect that FF7 had on me.

Haha, I did like Vivi the most too! He was so cute and seemed to be so pure. His black magic was pretty strong too (though he had low HP). I slightly disagree when it comes to the "best CGI cutscenes" part though. I think that FFVIII still gets that title.

It's my favorite Playstation game, I still have the 4 discs set and play it sometimes when I'm feeling nostalgic. As you said, I loved the characterization too, the chibi look, their design, their story, their abilities etc... The story is amazing, the worl is fascinating, the graphics are perfect for a Playsation game. I almost cried while typing this
