How much do you think PS4 games SHOULD cost?

It looks like PS4 is going to be the premier next generation console considering the flak that we've all been giving Xbox One and the anticipated sales forecasts have PS4 outselling Xbox One. Knowing that, how much do you think PS4 games SHOULD cost? I would argue that they should be just as expensive if not more expensive than Xbox One games due to the anticipated quality and popularity. I'd say anywhere from $59.99 - $69.99.

As a PC gamer, I am used to getting AAA titles for 5-6 bucks. Just after a year of release.

On release, I can pick up most games for 40$. I think consoles need to step up there game and lower the game prices.

$5-6 is quite the bargain. Consider the rate of inflation. The crooks in D.C. have been printing piles of money the past 5 years. They're flooding the market with money and it is reducing the value of it. So, you can't expect today's games to cost the same or less than games released 5 or 10 years ago. I don't think $40 is reasonable. Also, consider that most console manufacturers lose money on the sale of the consoles. The way that they turn a profit is to sell a lot of games at high prices.

$40-45.

One would figure they would sell more games at a reduced price than games at a higher price.

I think PS4 games should cost about 40 dollars. I mean I don't understand why games are so expensive. It is one of the biggest waste of life. Most people play a game for about a month at the most, and then it becomes boring.

This. This is the biggest reason I hate gaming on consoles. Most people are like "PC gaming is so expensive!". The thing is, their might be a higher upfront cost but you save a lot after that.

Free online, cheap games, you name it.

I would say that 45 to 50 dollars in a reasonable price. But it will not happen as the price of games will go up with the release of every new gaming console.

I'm not exactly an expert, so I wouldn't really know how much they should cost, but for me personally I would prefer it be around the $30-$40 range. The prices of games as of now may be just right for the major countries that I assume serve as the bulk of their sales, but I think it would help to combat piracy if they lowered their prices so lower income countries could participate in the market instead of having to resort to illegal means.

I think anything more than 60 dollars is a load of crap. Its not like the discs cost more to produce, sure the actual games may cost more maybe but that should never affect the cost unless its for every console in my opinion. If they do raise the price and no one else decides to though theyll be in some trouble.

But why should they be any different than the previous generation? Just keep the price or drop it for easier sales, no problem in that. Anything higher than $50 is too much for me anyway.

I doubt prices will be lowered. Development budgets will keep increasing, I doubt prices will go down. I personally do think that at least SOME games should be cheaper. Imagine if, like, Call of Duty was $40 instead of $60. Those $20 would certainly make it sell loads more to make up for the lower prices, no? Oh well, what do I know...

I think that they should cost at least $30 each instead of going for $60 each. Not everyone can afford a $60 game. What if you want to buy a few different games and play them instead of playing the same one? In this case, you would be paying $120 for only two games. I think that is ridiculous.

I do realize that retells stores need to make a profit for the games. I know that they buy in bulk for a specific number of games, usually at the price of $40 each. So, they are making about $20 each and profit for everyone who comes into the store and buys a game. This is how it has always worked.

I can't see how they can go any higher than $60 right now. I know that it costs tons to develop these games, but the average consumer can barely afford $60 bucks a game, let alone any higher. At some point, demand will begin to shift significantly if the price gets too high.

I don't mind the price tag being what it is, but the dollar per hour is pretty important to me. Can I get 60 hours of play out of a title. What's the multiplayer value. What's the value the title will hold in a week, in a month, in a year? I like the $40 price tag; but if I pay the full $60, I would suggest everyone to get the game cause then its a huge and wonderful game just waiting to over heat your PS.

I would love for the games to be £39.99 but I know they are going to be closer to £49.99. It's kind of OK because it's all new technology/graphics, and the games will actually have a lot of development put into them unlike some previous gen games (cough*cod*cough). I wont be buying many games on launch so it's OK, plus I take my time on games and play online a lot. So one or 2 games can get me a long way. I'll probably get BF4 on release, lots of re-playability.

In reality it will probably be between $60-$80 but it would be nice if they were around 30-40$ this would really be nice because lets face it.. After a few months the game gets boring.
