Return PS4 for these playback issues?

I have had my new PS4 for about 2 months. I'm having some different intermittent playback issues.

1. During playback of some Blu-Rays (some of which are brand new), the circle icon just spins and spins and never loads the movie. This is even when I selected "No connection" to internet for playback. Then, I reboot the PS4 and it typically works again. Bizarre.

2. During playback of some DVD's, there is a lot of skipping. Last night, I was playing "The Returned", which I got from the library. I looked at the back of the disc and it had some marks on it but I played it in my computer's DVD player and it worked just fine.

Have not played any disc-based games yet, just downloaded PSN content.

The PS4 has already been reformatted once. Do you think since this is an intermittent issue, it's even worth sending it back to Sony? If they can't replicate the issue, I just get it back as is, right?

I'd call support and they'll be able to do a switch. Or you could see if you could return it to the store. Whatever you decide to do I'd suggest returning it because this does sound like a hardware issue.

Thanks for the feedback. I went ahead and set up to send it to Sony, though the guy on the phone did not indicate it would be a "switch." I don't know how vigorously they test these things (as it IS an intermittent issue), but I just hope they don't throw in a coupla Blu-Rays and say it's fine and send mine back to me.

Check your warranty, return it to the store (walmart, target, radioshack etc) not to sony for a replacement

I haven't had any issues with mine outside of the network problems everyone had on release. I personally wouldn't have sent it back unless it was a major issue, but then again I actually use mine to play frequently so it would essentially have to be broken for me to care enough to get a full out replacement if I couldn't get it fixed locally.
