Are you buying a PS4?

I'm going to buy a PS 4 two years after its release maybe. After two years, I think the price would have gone down significantly and improvements would have already been made to the hardware. They're would be a lot more games available. But, if somebody would give me a PS 4 as a gift on its release date, then I wouldn't hesitate to accept it. That would be one of the best gifts that I would ever receive.

I'm probably going to do the same thing as you. Like you mentioned, more improvements will be made to the ps4. There ARE and will going to be bugs in the ps4, and a lot of people are going to be angry.

Like many new consoles, the ps4, along with the Xbox 720, will have its initial flaws. Therefore I agree with you that it would be a good idea to purchase the console after a couple of years when certain mistakes have been fixed. The games at launch may not be that good, an example of this would be the overall awful launch games of the Wii U, but better games will come out after a while. It will be interesting to see whether the Ps4 and Xbox 720 end up worth buying.

This is pretty much where I'm at with the PS4. I only bought my PS3 in early 2011, so I really haven't had it that long and am still finding plenty of new and exciting games to play. My library of PS3 games won't be running out any time soon, and there's still plenty more games that I'd like to buy that I haven't gotten around to yet or are waiting on to come out. Because of this, I don't really have the need for a Playstation 4 so early on in the game. I'd like to wait a year or two at least after it comes out, so that I'll have plenty of games to look forward to, improved software and hardware, possibly a bigger hard drive, and most importantly a decrease in price.

Getting a PS4 as a gift would be awesome to say the least. I expect most people to buy and resell them on launch day. Everyone wants to be the first to own one. Therefore, you will find people buying a couple. Then going on eBay and selling them for a thousand dollars. Yes, people are actually crazy enough to spend one thousand dollars to be the first to get one.

I will be one of those people standing in line to get mine, I know and understand that when it first comes out it will be drastically overpriced but I don't think I'll be able to resist. As for the xbox I've always perferred Playstation over xbox. I don't know why but I've never been able to get used to the xobx controllers they seem way to big and I have large hands.

For me am recently saving for a mortgage meaning I am on a tight budget. Though I will still buy the console after its release it may take me more than three years before I decide to go for one. I don't blame myself for this since the same fun and features the person who would buy after the release would enjoy are the same ones I would also enjoy after those three years.
