Did you get an email to change your Password?

This is a rumor that I've read reported on legit gaming sites and it hasn't happened to me but apparently a wide swash of gamers got an email telling them to change their passwords. A lot of SCEA users have gotten emails from Sony telling them to change their PSN passwords, has it happened to you?

Sony say's change password

I haven't been asked to change mine but thats crazy. I wonder what happened that they are asking people to do so. I hope they didn't get hacked again! I have never stored my credit card information with them but I remember last time that happened I had a friend who experience fraudulent charges to his card he used with Sony. it was all taken care of in the end but it still sucked for him!

I didn't get an email, but suddenly my password was no good and i had to reset it, where they send you an email with a link. Weird.

I would take precaution if I were you. It sounds like a phishing scam, not unlike one I received in my junk mail today to re-set my PayPal password. If it's legitimate, wait for it to be more diligently reported than taking heed from a rumor. You do not want to give up any information that could be used against you by identity thieves.

Nothing here.

Beware of scams!

When in doubt, go direct to the source.. Don't trust emails. Usually if you scroll over the link, if the link on the screen doesn't match what shows up (usually) in the lower left portion of your browser.. IT'S A TRAP (Where is my Admiral Ackbar mask when I need it).

I did not receive ANY emails at all from Sony and I really suggest you to be careful on what you do with the email. The email could potentially be malicious or a threat in an attempt to get your password.

I suggest you to delete it and conduct a virus scan just to make sure you do not have any keyloggers located in your computers.

Just remember that it may be a trap and it may be dangerous.

A friend of mine received this emal this morning. It's because there was a security breach so Sony decided to reset the passwords to prevent further security issues.

Has there been any release from Sony on a security breach?

After the last time... you think if it is true, they would want to get out ahead of this? I think there are still some people sore over the last time.

Yeah this legit since many gaming sites are reporting it. Usually I would have said that people should be careful since it might be a scam, I also got an email a few years ago asking me to change my paypal password. It was weird, but in this case Sony themselves have confirmed that they are doing this with both PS3 and PS4 users.
