How much do you think PS4 games SHOULD cost?

In reality it will probably be between $60-$80 but it would be nice if they were around 30-40$ this would really be nice because lets face it.. After a few months the game gets boring.

That's where the PC wins, the game prices are not only cheaper at the start but they fly down in price after a few months.

I would love it if they would release them for about 50$, same price as a PC game in their day one release. This way they could attract more pc gamers and still making console players happy. I know they use BD disks in consoles now but I guess they could raise a maximum 5$ for copy compared with the pc version and I'm already being nice.

The economy is unfit for a game over $60 IMO. People would also raise a stink against the industry if they raised game prices which could have negative consequences.

I can't see how they can go any higher than $60 right now. I know that it costs tons to develop these games, but the average consumer can barely afford $60 bucks a game, let alone any higher. At some point, demand will begin to shift significantly if the price gets too high.

Exactly what I was thinking.

With the amount of work that goes into the creation of a game, especially those that end up as a series, I think that the $60 price point is way too low, but as a consumer, I have a hard time even paying that for a game. I think that $60 is about the max that most people will pay, which is why most of them are priced around that point. On another note, I think that the companies that profit off the resale of used games need to be forwarding a portion of those proceeds back to the game creators as a way to offset the cost of new games. Once a game is sold new, the manufacturers no longer get a cut, which cuts off a vital stream of revenue and forces the prices of new games up to cover the loss.

Well if you would want my opinion on this matter, I would most likely want PS4 games to be in the range of $15-$25, I think the price range which you are referring towards is a lot and no one would be much willing to buy PS4 games for this much price each. So I think if they want to attract more people towards it at least the price of PS4 games should be reasonable so that everyone can enjoy it.

PS4 games should adapt the normal prices from now and all the PS3 titles should go down in price, this would boost both new and old games sales.

$49.99 to me is a happy medium - its enough for publishers to make money and it won't necessarily break the bank of consumers. I think $59.99 came about after a developer invested a much greater than average budget on a game and had to offset by charging a little more for that game - unfortunately once someone did that others followed suit regardless of what the game's development budget actually is.

This won't be a popular position but I think games are priced pretty fairly considering the work that goes into them these days.

It's not just a team of computer graphics designers and game physics guys/coders sitting around dreaming stuff up anymore. It's all those guys plus voice actors, producers, music scores and royalties that go with them. It's basically a full on cinematic production on top of the game itself which is literally created from scratch (on top of the game engine).

When I look at my gaming rate and the amount paid I would propose the price to be at least between 20 and 25 dollars. With this I think gaming can still remain in place while we the players can as well keep gaming as much as we can.

40 to 50 bucks. No more but I'd definitely settle for much less. I know that the games are looking better and are getting a lot larger but that doesn't mean that they should cost much more. The consoles have cost more or less the same even if the hardware improved so much. So why would the games be any different? They should maintain the pricing. Period.

Well I'm a big fan of Sony and so far I have been able to save and spend some money on some games that I really like (Burst Limit PS3 and such). Sony would only benefit from lowering the price to 50-60 bucks or even less. Decent price = more sales. Everyone would be happy this way.

The current prices are reasonable, but it's still a little sore when no multiplayer mode. I know some games are just better with a single player mode and multiplayer mode without.

For now, the price is right. It's expensive to make a game and should offset the costs of development. But it is sure that I am not willing to pay more for a game. Especially now that the games are sold with DLCs separately.

Anyway, I always watch the games I purchased. I achètepas any games, just those that interest me.

GET REAL! THIS IS NOT A CELL PHONE PLAN! trust me, they dont lose any money on the consoles. Not saying that console manufacturers (sony, microsoft) dont develop games, but not nearly enough to make up for losses in like you are talking about. It is all about a free market system. the games ARE worth whatever people are willing to pay for them. If EVERYONE banded together and bought NO copies of a BIG new release at say $60 I Guarantee they would lower the price until they found the sweet spot where they could sell a lot of copies and still make money. Not bashing, but f you dont understand a business concept, keep your trash comments to yourself.

$60 should be the maximum.
$50 would be even better but I doubt it's going to happen.
As someone else said, this is why I prefer PC gaming. Steam sales are huge and you can find most games for $5-$15

I think that we would all love to live in a world where games on the PS4 cost $40-$50 bucks but I think it's pretty clear that unless it's an indie title, DLC, or for sale on PSN then the games will cost $60. I think it's pretty much confirmed for anyone whose been buying PS4 games, maybe things will be different when the cloud starts working but yeah I really wish games where cheaper.

I feel that games in general are getting really expensive. I understand that there is a lot that goes into them, and a lot of people need to get paid for their work but it's just getting ridiculous. I feel like the perfect price point would be around fifty dollars. Truthfully I'll only pay full price for a handful of games though. I usually buy my games second hand from Gamestop or Craigslist.
