When did you get your first PlayStation 1? (Year and month)

Well actually I got my PlayStation 1 in 1996 because it was my Dad's at the time, but I started playing video games in December, 1998 which Spyro the Dragon was my first video game and that's when I played it. My Dad got it for me for Christmas and that was what I played and I love that game.

Well I can't say when as it was my parents who bought it but I'm sure I got one when I was 5 so maybe 99/2000.

I honestly can't remember it might have been earlier. I didn't pick up the PS2 until a couple years after the launch of it.

I got my original PS1 Christmas 1995 with Battle Arena Toshinden and Rayman. Those were the days when you got one or two games for your console (if it didn't come with one) and you had to earn the rest through good grades.

I got my first PSX the summer of 1997 and sold it in 2001 to finance my Gamecube campaign. I found one tossed out in 2003--apparently someone was kicked out by their girlfriend--along with a controller and some cut up cords. Turns out the controller was broken, but the console itself was still working. That's the one I kept.

My brother got his PS One in December 2000 and I've had that one since 2004 when we decided it wouldn't be worth selling for games without the controllers.

I got my first PS1 in Fall 1998, I can't remember the exact month. I bought the console that came with the rumbling controllers along with some games like Gran Turismo and DB Final Bout. Me and my brother played it all night and early morning.

Oh I remember DB Final Bout! There were so many fighting games on PS1 when I think about it. If there was an anime it got a fighting game on PS1 and SNES and a Banpesto RPG on SNES.

I remember the Banpesto RPGs. They were just all the same with a non-canon story. They could be fun at times though. I think Namco owns Banpesto now.

I got my first Playstation in August 1997. I got it as a gift for my 7th birthday. I got about 4 games for it when I first got it. I was hooked on playing for the first three months i had it!

Sometime in September 1995. I can't remember what games I got, maybe 2-3 launch titles. I also picked up a Saturn and a game that day also. Was a good, I didn't have bills or kids to feed, kind of day.

My original Playstation was bought for me as a Christmas present, to replace my Sega Megadrive.

I think it would have been 1996 rather than the previous year, because I remember it came with Crash Bandicoot (and another game that I don’t remember...). I have pretty much no memory of most of that Christmas Day other than being amazed by the 3D effects and the sound of the Aku Aku Mask!

I can't really pinpoint the exact date anymore, but I got my PS1 pretty much at the tail end of its lifespan because I only bought my friend's system when he had already grown tired of it. I wasn't really that interested in video games at the time, so I was satisfied enough with just playing at his house whenever I came by.

I received my first playstation in 1996. It was a Christmas gift from my parents to me and my older sister and the primitive 3d blew all our minds. "This is the future!" we all thought, really puts stuff into perspective. We both had our own game for the system, I had Alien Trilogy, a pretty fun alien themed doom clone with some really hip music and my sister got Myst. We all had a ton of fun with the demo disk that came with our system along with a subscription to PSM. So long ago.

I first obtained my PlayStation back in 1997, think it was July or August. My dad and younger brother came by to visit me in my boarding house when I was in first year college. The first games I have been exposed to were Tekken 2 and Final Fantasy VII.

I got my PS1 on Christmas 1996, man that was probably the greatest day of my childhood. I still remember that Christmas eve, I can't sleep due to excitement! And when Christmas day came, man I tore my present right off and I just played Rayman the rest of Christmas day.

I remember the day, I really think it was my birthday, I would like to say it was Oct. 1996 and the first game I played on the system I had rented some NBA game, I own a version of the game now, but off hand I cant remember the name, first game I bought for the PS1 might of been either WCW World Tour or WWF Warzone, which ever came out first I forget.

Very fun system for the time, I had a Sega Saturn before it, and with so few games coming out I had gave up on the Saturn. But at the time a best friend had a PS1 in 95/96 with just about ever game released for the system except sports games, I really have no idea how he had so many PS1 games at the time, some were horrible. But just about everyday after school I would walk home with him just to play his PS1, thus why I ended up wanting one of my own so bad.

I got my PS1 the year it came out in 1994 or maybe in 95'. I know I got it for Christmas. It was a big deal for me to have it cause I really wanted it and it was the first game console I ever own.

My sister actually received a PlayStation 1 as a reward for getting a 100 on her standardized state test. It was around April 1997. I was in the same assembly hall when she was awarded the PlayStation 1 and I remember being so excited. They also gave her a copy of spyro which wasn't a bad game.
